As part of its commitment to environmental conservation, Honda works closely with government agencies and community partners on a variety of environmental initiatives. In one major partnership, Honda has been working with The Nature Conservancy, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and others on preservation of the Big Darby Creek.
Honda has worked closely with The Nature Conservancy over the years to restore the Big Darby headwaters, on and near Honda property where the Big Darby becomes a permanent stream. The Big Darby is a state and national scenic river widely recognized as one of the most biologically diverse watercourses for its size in the Midwest, providing habitat for 100 species of fish and more than 40 species of mussels.
The strength of these partnerships was on display in 2008, when The Nature Conservancy opened the 800-acre Big Darby Headwaters Nature Preserve, supported by Honda and other private and public entities.
