OSHA Forms Safety Alliance with Honda in Ohio

Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. and the federal Occupational Health & Safety Administration today signed an Alliance agreement that calls for Honda’s best practices in plant safety and ergonomics, and training and education, to be shared with U.S. industry. This announcement, the first of its kind between an automaker and OSHA, calls for joint work and information sharing in safety and ergonomics and plant floor communication. Honda’s leadership in ergonomics and safety has been demonstrated by its associates’ performance in the prestigious annual Ergo Cup competition, its partnership with Ohio State’s University’s high-tech COHAM ergo lab and its innovations in designing new cars and light trucks with ease of assembly in mind.
